A Short Stop in Florence

Moving down the Oregon coast, we spent some time in Florence. Of course, my favorite thing was the Heceta Head Lighthouse. The best view is from a pulloff just down the coast a little.

Below us the sea lions were sunning themselves.

A few were swimming.

We drove over to the parking lot -

And started the climb up to the lighthouse.

The view was just stunning.

This rock is covered with cormorants.

These guys are the kings of the mountain!

We made it up to the lighthouse, but unfortunately it was closed for repairs...

So we climbed up the hill behind it to get a different view.

While in Florence, we also went on a hike in Honeyman State Park.

And on Saturday, we went to the Florence Boardwalk Market.

It was a lot of fun, in a beautiful setting! And we even had some good weather!
