Last Post on Boston

One day we drove over to see Lexington and Concord.

We went on a trolley tour - very informative, but not very amenable to photos. We did stop at the spot where, on April 19, 1775, a shot was heard 'round the world. It was the first ordered firing by the Colonists upon British troops.

Lexington Common was also one of the first great events of the American Revolution, a battle fought the same day.

We toured another old cemetery there.

Some of the tombstones were actually overgrown by trees.

On another day we went to see Saugus Iron Works.

It was really cool, with water wheels,

A blacksmith shop,

And huge bellows.

Distracted again...
