Day 5 on the Galapagos
Overnight we moved to Elizabeth Bay, also on Isabela Island. As usual, early in the morning we went on a ride in the little boats to check out the area.
One of the coolest things we saw was this Sea Lion taking a nap on a big tree branch. How did he get up there?
Then we saw some Golden Rays, a little hard to see from the boat.
I loved the reflections of the vegetation.
Then we saw this cute little Galapagos Penguin posing for us.
After we got back on board, the ship moved to Moreno Point, also on Isabela Island. After lunch there was another snorkeling expedition.
We got a good look at a Flightless Cormorant -
Some Pelicans -
And a lot of Blue-Footed Boobies.
Of course, one had to pose for us.
Later in the afternoon, we went on a Dry Landing Hike on the lava. It was difficult walking, but well worth it, because we found what we were looking for.
Down there in the water -
Flamingoes!
Then it was back on board for dinner. And this is just the appetizer! We were really well fed...
