Wildlife Safari

Wildlife Safari in Winston, Oregon is a drive-through wild animal park on 600 acres.
"Hi there - I'll be your guide today."

The loop drive is 4 1/2 miles long, and you can do it twice.
"Do you mind if I check my hair in your mirror?"

The bison jams were a lot like Yellowstone.

Until the food truck came, then there was a stampede.

I was amazed at how well the animals got along together.

Of course, some of them were in separate enclosures. The grizzly bears had a nice area complete with their own pond.

"Oh, I think I ate too much."

I think these guys were just playing and putting on a show for us, but it was fun to watch.

Little Tarzan had his own house and play area.

This East African Crowned Crane was putting on quite a show, dancing around for what I assume is his intended bride.

The big hippo was on his own side of the fence, although it doesn't look it here.

This cute little interloper better watch it!

  2. Have done the safari in San Diego, but this might be even better since you can drive yourself.
