Thanksgiving in the Desert

After the Dance Rally, we headed over to Borrego Springs, CA for our annual WIN Thanksgiving in Borrego Springs, CA.

We had beautiful weather, and LOTS of food.

We're patiently waiting for our number to be called so we can grab up the food.

FINALLY! But I needn't have worried - of course, there was tons of food, enough for leftovers the next day, and soup the following day.

One thing I really wanted to do here was go to see the Stone Eagle. It's outside of Warner Springs. It's amazing how much it looks like an eagle!

I first read about it on Al and Kelly's blog last week. For better pictures, and directions, read their blog here.

On another day, Richard led us on a hike high above our rigs to see the Stone Snake.

Wow - there it is. Note the forked tongue!

Yay! We made it!

  1. Looks like fun times. Sorry I missed it. I love Borrego Springs. See you in Quartzsite?

  2. We never seem to lack for food. And you guys work it all off before it has time to settle. I love that eagle rock formation.

  3. Glad that giant snake wasn't hungry, it would have been easy pickings for a quick snack with all of you standing around... :c)

  4. Looks like a fabulous Thanksgiving with tons of your best friends. You do have the best times. That eagle is amazing. Hope the it and the snake are easy to find. I've put them on my list for sure!

  5. That eagle is really cool! And I can't believe I never saw the snake.

  6. You guys have more fun!!! Had I gotten into a group like that, I might still be on the road. such good times you have!

  7. Looks like fun. I would like to see both the snake and the eagle.
