A Fun Night at Filly's

Filly's, in Apache Junction, is a very popular spot. They are famous for their wings. Doesn't the chicken look a little nervous?

Of course, we did the Chicken Dance.

And there was a wing-eating contest. (Believe it or not, the big guy did not win!)

And then there was a dance contest! Phil and I didn't even know it until we were picked as one of the 3 couples to compete.

We did our best, but didn't think we had a chance because the other two couples were a lot wilder. The winner was to be picked by who got the most applause.

But OMG - WE WON!!!

Our prize is in this envelope...

WOW - $75 in gift certificates!!! I guess we'll be coming back here often!

But that's not all - these medals are real metal - very impressive.

After that there was more dancing. Here's part of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." The band was great and I loved the fiddle.

  2. Wow - we missed that one. We were at Filly's on Thursday night to hear B & K but it was really B & JD cause Kerry had a friend getting married. I'm not at all surprised that you guys won. I've seen you in action. See ya tomorrow night.

  6. That's really exciting! Congratulations!! You look great in the photos, and now you have medals to prove you won. My friends in Placerville danced in country competitions, they were really good, too. I love watching good dancers, especially CW. Men look so masculine and women look so feminine. Atta Girl!

  7. Well done. Scenes like the dancing in bars always remids me of the Leonard Cohen song "Closing time" The fiddling in the last song is always exciting.
