Highlights of the Louvre
After all the things I wrote about in the last post, we still had some time to go to the Louvre!
It's a huge museum, but Corrie had downloaded a book that told us how to see the important stuff in the least amount of time.
Once again, the ceilings are beautiful.
Venus de Milo was one of the first highlights we saw.
Wow! More ceilings!
About this time, the battery on my camera died, so unfortunately, the rest of the pictures were taken with my cell phone.
The Wedding Feast at Cana, by Veronese, where Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water into wine.
This is the largest painting in the museum, and it drew quite a crowd.
But nothing compared to one of the smallest -
The Mona Lisa!
Wow!
And apparently, people took selfies in ancient times! Here's Mara taking a selfie of herself and Apollo, who is taking a selfie of himself!
Yet another beautiful ceiling.
Before we left, we got a view of the bottom part of the pyramid.
I'm exhausted!

Great post. It is decades since I have been there:(
ReplyDeleteI guess there must have been a canvas shortage which would explain all the ceiling paintings. ;c)
