Lots To Do Around Prescott Valley
There are tons of hiking trails around Prescott and Prescott Valley, but one of my favorites is along the shore of Watson Lake.
I went there several times, but once with my travel buddy, Rosemary, who was passing through the area.
It's a beautiful hike, although it involves a lot of rock scrambling. But the trail is very well marked with white dots.
The manzanita bushes were in full bloom.
Once again, some little guy tried to sell me insurance...
Back at my camping spot at the Prescott Elks Lodge, the Prickly Pear Cactus were starting to bloom.
And this Roadrunner came by a couple of times to say Hello.
Anyone know what this is?
I've been having weekly Zoom Happy Hour meetings with my WIN friends. I'm afraid that it makes me just feel more lonely, though...
Good night! The gorgeous view from my parking spot, overlooking Fain Lake.

Moving Up the Hill
After my stay in Apache Junction, I headed up the hill to Prescott Valley when the temperatures got too high. I stayed at the Elks Lodge, and this was my gorgeous view of Fain Park below me.
It's a great park to walk around. There are trails around the lake and off into the brush.
It's a small lake, and the dam that forms it is an easy walk.
There were some cute little critters on the other end of the dam.
There's a beautiful waterfall on the other side of the lake.
I wondered where the water comes from, but I found out when I walked up behind it.
There's also some cool "rusty stuff," mining equipment from a long time ago.
Back on the trail around the lake, I made new friend, a Great Blue Heron. We kept our social distancing...
One day, my long-time friend, Sally, who lives nearby, came over to the park for lunch and talking. She invited me too, and I had a great time. It's nice to see people for a change...
Back at camp, this 5-foot long snake came slithering through under our RVs one evening. He wasn't poisonous, and was amazing to watch. He moved pretty fast!
It's hard to come up with things to write about in these trying times, but this is my best effort...
