Following a Moose and a Mouse
Next, we moved on to the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho area. The town is famous for a children's book, "Mudgy and Millie," a story of a hide-and-seek game between Mudgy the Moose and Millie the Mouse. There are 5 of these statues around town. To give away the ending of the book, I'll tell you that Millie wins by hiding in Mudgy's antlers...
We did a couple of nice hikes here. The first one was around Tubbs Hill, a little hill surrounded by water near the harbor.
They had a very polite sign at the beginning of the trail...
This is kind of an unusual boat dock, I think.
No boats there, but the gulls really liked it.
Another nice view of Coeur d'Alene Lake.
Wait - another distraction...
We also went on a hike at Farragut State Park along Lake Pend Oreille.
I know it sounds like I didn't do much at this stop, but several of us spent time RV SHOPPING! There are LOTS of RV dealers in this area. Although I'm happy with my trailer, it's getting a little old. I didn't buy yet, but I'm looking.

Uh oh. I see a new trailer in your future...and maybe that's a good thing. You certainly have gotten your monies worth out of this one! :c)
ReplyDeleteWere did you stay in Coeur d'Alene? We stopped there a few years ago but the RV park was such a dive we drove over to the Walmart. We would like to make another visit if we could find a decent place to stay.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed at the Eagles lodge. It pays to join the fraternal organizations.
DeleteOnce you start looking, it can be hard to stop until you find that new ideal rig:))
