Quartzsite - Part I
The WINs park 2 miles out on Plomosa Rd, north of Quartzsite. I like to park down the hill, in "the ditch" to get away from all the generators.
This is my view of the people "up the hill." Quartzsite doesn't lack beautiful sunsets.
This year there was new entertainment - a hot air balloon.
The WINs are parked across the street from the Solos, and less than a mile from the LoWs, two other singles groups. One afternoon we had an ice cream social for all singles. Lots of fun to talk to everyone in the other groups, many of whom I knew from other gatherings.
But of course, the main reason to come to Quartzsite is to shop. The weather was the best I can ever remember.
Even a little hot for some shoppers.
The big tent is filled with anything an RVer could possibly want.
Solar-charged lanterns were new this year.
Along with fishing poles to roast your marshmallows and hot dogs.
Hmmmmm..... Not for sale, but I might have to try this....
Quartzsite is when the WINs do their planning for the summer circuits. I'm looking forward to doing the Pacific Northwest this year.
More on Quartzsite to come!
Every time we drove by the WIN sign I thought about you. Sure looked like a huge group of rigs parked there.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice party going on.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the pictures.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana,
ReplyDeleteI picked a bad year to skip Q-site! Sounds like you guys are having a blast.
Thanks for the photo of the Summer Circuit. I'm planning on joining you all sometime in June. I'll keep you posted.
I should have come by and visited with you - next year I'll do that while you guys are here. Nancy M was telling me about the Ice Cream Social with the three groups - sounded really fun. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun time. When you are in the Pacific Northwest, it's best to travel north to south along the coast, much easier to pull off to all the great beach sites.
ReplyDeleteWe sure missed all the Q fun this year. Hope the weather is as nice next year, we're planning to be there. I know, Q is addictive!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought the hot dog/marshmallow fishing poles were silly, but they're really rather clever.
ReplyDeleteMaybe next year?
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of what looks like a lot of fun. I've never been to Q and have read SO many differing opinions. But going with a big group of friends definitely sounds great.
ReplyDeleteOH I wish I was joining you guys for that PNW trip...I've never been to that area...Hey I think that solar water heater will work!!
ReplyDeleteHi, in planning for your trip to the Pacific Northwest you could refer to a blog I often read : http://wheelingit.us/
ReplyDeleteThey've been there before and planning to go back this year. From my reading they seam to have good ideas...
