House on Fire!
Our first stop in Utah was a great boondocking spot west of Blanding, at the north end of Comb Wash Rd.
I'd been here back in 2004 and it brought back lots of memories.
I had a hike in mind that I've wanted to do for a long time, and talked some other WINs into doing it.
We went up the South Fork of Mule Canyon about a mile.
The recent rain made it a little more challenging, but I had a goal and would do anything to reach it.
Water, flowers and rocks! What more could you ask for? I first heard of House on Fire ruin from fellow blogger Sondra. She is probably sooooo jealous about now...
Here it is! Woweeee!
And nearby are some more pictographs.
The flames are really shooting! I hope the fire truck gets here soon!
That is incredible. It looks exactly like it's on fire. How beautiful. So glad you persevered through the mud.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jim and Sandie. That is so neat and looks like flames going up.

As is often the case when reading your posts, I immediately looked to see if there is an airport nearby..Yup. Now if I could just find that Comb Wash Road. Any further hints? I want to add this one to my places to go list. It's just a 2 hour flight from the AZ house.
ReplyDeleteComb Wash Rd is about 10 miles west of Blanding on Rt 95. After you go through the cut in Comb Ridge, you will see the RVs down below you.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!! This is now most definitely "on my list"!!
