Back to Apache Junction

After visiting with the WINs in Parker, I moved back to Apache Junction to finish up my medical appointments and equally boring stuff. I stayed at the Elks Lodge -

Which has a beautiful view of the Superstition Mountains.

One day I went on a 4-wheel drive outing with a couple of friends through Bulldog Canyon.

The colors were just amazing!

A different view of the Superstition Mountains.

With Weaver's Needle way in the distance.

On another day, I went on a hike on the Hieroglyphic Trail with my sister Barbara, "brother-in-law" Ron, and some of their friends.

Along the way, we saw some grinder holes, where the ancient ones ground their corn.

And at the end, we saw some pretty impressive petroglyphs.

There was some water nearby. Is this where they washed their clothes?

The view at the end of the trail.

Way up there, Abe Lincoln is watching over us!

  1. I guess those Indians had some grit in their meals after seeing those holes in the rocks. Must have been tough on their teeth?
