Houston - Beach, Rodeo, and Jake Owen!

We had a great stop in Houston. First we went to Galveston to experience the beach. Unfortunately, it was Spring Break - look at all those people!

The water seemed a little dirty, compared to what we've seen in Florida.

One day we went to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. For a $10 ticket, you got to walk around the carnival, see the livestock show, the rodeo, and a concert! What a deal!

The livestock show was indoors.

Some of those kids look way to small to handle those huge animals, but they did a good job.

There were other animals there, including lots of pigs.

I think these kids get pretty attached to their animals.

After dinner, the rodeo started. For $10, you don't get the best seats, but the huge stadium wasn't full, so we were able to move down.

For pictures, I could either zoom a lot -

Or take pictures of the monitor. The bull riding was pretty scary.

After the rodeo, there was a brief indoor fireworks show -

And then the Jake Owen concert began.

The concert was only about an hour long, but well worth the money.

Again, it was easier to see on the monitor.

He sang a few songs while going around the audience while people took selfies.

It was a great day!

  1. In my 50 years living down there the Galveston beach water was dirty brown 99% of the time at that part of the beach you were at.
