Chicago, Part Two

From the Hancock Center, we walked down Michigan Avenue, then took a free trolley over to Navy Pier.

For me, the big attraction was the huge ferris wheel.

The 7-minute ride was only one revolution, but well worth it.

The pier also boasted a stained glass museum. Most of the works were from the 1880s and 1890s, and were rescued from houses being demolished. This one represents the four seasons. Click on it to see more detail - it was just gorgeous!

On the way to Navy Pier, we saw several human statues.

We also got side-tracked by the American Girl doll store. This is big business!

The place was packed with girls and their mothers buying hundreds of dollars of dolls and accessories.

What's this? A doll hospital!

Gee, I hope they'll be all right.

Then they can go to the doll hair salon!

These hairdressers were dead serious. And at $20 a pop, I can see why. And for a mere $5 more, you can add the "Pampering Plus Package."

  1. You've got to be kidding! What a place. Do I see a Westie in that picture with all the dolls?

  2. The Museum of Science and Industry. As a kid for several years we vacationed by Train. Chicago being the Railroad Hub of the USA, we needed to spend most of a day there and that was my Dad's answer (industrial Engineer).
